Privacy Policy

TrapScout ("the app") is designed so that your survey data stays yours. This policy explains what the app collects and where it goes.

Summary

• We don't collect personal data, and we don't require an account.
• The app has no analytics, advertising or tracking.
• Your surveys stay on your device and in your own iCloud account.

Data you enter

Plant, area, trap, inspection, photo, logo and report data you enter is stored on your device. If you use iCloud sync, it syncs through Apple's CloudKit service to your own private iCloud account so it's available on your other devices. We (the developer) cannot access it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Data we collect

We do not collect personal data, run analytics or advertising trackers in the app, or sell or share data. We do not require an account.

Camera, photos and NFC

The app uses the camera to scan QR labels and photograph traps and nameplates, the photo library to attach photos and logos you choose, and NFC to read and write trap tags. Images, text recognition and tag reads are processed on your device and stored only with your survey data.

NFC tags and QR labels

Tags written by TrapScout contain only a link with a random trap ID (for example, trapscout.app/t/…). No plant or trap data is stored on the tag. This website does not log or look up those IDs.

Reports you share

PDF reports are created on your device. When you share one, it goes only where you send it (for example, email or Files), under that service's privacy terms.

Purchases

Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple. We receive no payment details or personal information from Apple, only confirmation of what has been purchased.

Email

If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you, and we don't add you to any mailing list.

This website

This website uses no cookies or analytics. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which may process technical request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site.

Children

TrapScout is a professional tool and is not directed at children.

Your choices

You can delete any survey data in the app, and deleting the app removes its data from your device. To remove synced data, delete it in the app while sync is on, or manage TrapScout's data in your iCloud settings.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date.
